PRINTSSS

As you know 2010 S/S is ALL about prints:

TIPS for wearing prints:
  • Don't cover yourself! By covering yourself in lots and lots of prints, confuses the eye and so you cannot focus on a particular print. By contrasting a print with block colours, the eye is immediately drawn to the print!
  • Advance the print by teaming it colours used by the print e.g. yellowy/orange and black leopard, team with black for a chic look.
  • Remember to think of the accessories to go with the print. Do you want the accessories to balance out the print or do you want to focus on the print?!

Golden Dresses at The Golden Globes:

Here are some of the best dressed and the worst dresses of the evening. Some people clearly took to the evening dress code better then others! Here are some of the pictures:

1. Mariah Carey shows off her ample cleavage and body in a Herve Leger by Maz Azaria. Although her curves are shown off, it is not the most flattering dress for her.
2. Jennifer Anniston models a Valentino dress well with matching strappy heels. She shows off her toned legs with the slash in the material.
3. Drew Barrymore showing off this season's nude colour with a stunning Versace gown. The colour suits her really well but the angle shows off the detail of the dress badly.
4. Emily Blunt sporting a baby pink D & G gown. It matches her dark hair well. A nice, simple flowy dress.
5. Jennifer Garner modelling a beautiful asymmetric dress. Suits her figure really well.
6. Chloe Sevigny showing off a Valentino ruffle dress. A nice cut it may be but however drowns her figure.
7. Hallie Berry looking stunning in a really well cut, open back Kaufman Franco dress.
8. Tina Fey showing off an ill fitting Zac Prosen prom dress. The cut really does not suit her well and makes her look short.
9. Penelope Cruz looking amazing in a black fishtail Giorgio Armani. The lace dress looks brilliant on Cruz.
10. Nicole Kidman also sporting a nude Nina Ricci dress. The satin dress has great detail but washes out Kidman.
11. Glee actress Lea Michele modelling an Oscar de la Renta dress. The bottom half is amazing and really suites her.
12. Lastly, Courtney Cox making a show of Victoria Beckham. Popular among many celebrities, the black dress looks simple but sophisticated on Cox.

Have to say that I think the Oscar de la Renta dress looks amazing and I also really like the lace dress that Penelope Cruz is wearing! xx

Transformers star Megan Fox has been chosen to be the new face of Armani. The S/S 2010 campaign was shot by fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in LA.

Armani said: ‘Megan is young and sexy and has a lot of spirit.'
‘Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans are all about a youthful attitude making her the perfect choice for the collections.’

As a actress, she has mixed reviews but with such a stunning face, it has won her nothing but praise.

Here are the pictures from the shoot:

Jagger for Versace

Having made her debut on the cover of Vogue in Nov 2009 and winning Model of the year, Georiga May Jagger has progressed onto higher grounds. With her unique look, Versace finally unveiled Jagger for their campaign and shooting with Mario Testino produced this shot:

Versace commented to say: ”She’s smart, a strong personality, beautiful, full of energy… And with that natural high star quality, I adore her. She’s perfect for this collection – a real Versace girl.’

A beautiful shot produced which really shows her height and the dress colour matches her complexion really well.

Burberry Campaign S/S 2010

Once again, Burberry have roped in the beautiful Emma Watson to show off their new campaign. The campaign shot by Mario Testino have roped in a few new faces too including Watson’s younger sibling Alex Watson, son of Pink Floyds David Gilmour, Matt Gilmour, Max Hurd and One Night Only’s frontman George Craig. These youthful faces really give Burberry a fresh new look.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN S/S 2010

A short description is all that is needed for this collection as it is truely stunning! Renowned for including his British sense of style, this time round, Mcqueen’s designs really turned things around. Based on Charles Darwin the Origin of the Species, Mcqueen’s designs showed beautiful snakeskin and butterfly markings. The pictures really speak for themselves:

2009 has passed quickly so can you remember who was on the cover of Vogue in April? With Georgia May Jagger and Cheryl Cole making their debuts to Kate Moss showing off her supermodel looks. So the question really is, who’s was the best?

Jan 2009- The year kicked off with Cate Blanchett and a simple head shot that really showed Blanchett’s clean cut look.

Feb 2009- With the 2nd month looming, judge and singer Cheryl Cole made her debut at Vogue. She topped off the cover shot with her incredible bone structure and piercing eyes.

March 2009- Just in time for the collections, Lily Donaldson tops the cover to show case her fellow models. The light reflects well on her face and the hand on the head looks light and not too heavy.

April 2009- Supermodel Claudia Schiffer graces the cover for April and although looks a little uncomfortable, she manages to pull a good pose. Her exposed neck looks fantastic as the light hits it spectacularly.

May 2009- With a more comfortable pose and low lighting, Daria Webowy looks stunning as she makes her turn on the cover.

June 2009- June’s issue shows Natalia Vodianova baring all. Her posing is fantastic, although her head position looks a little wierd. Nevertheless, her beautiful jaw line makes up for it.

July 2009- With the theme ‘Ageless Style’, redhead beauty Julianne Moore graces the cover of Vogue with a summer time shot. The beautiful green dress draws out the colour of her hair to make it look like one of those long summer days.

Aug 2009- Although she holds no fierce face, Sasha Pivovarova holds a fierce pose for the August cover. The pink background and her blonde hair softens the clothing well.

Sept 2009- Supermodel Kate Moss shows off her modelling talent with thick black liner on her cat like eyes and a statment necklace. The lighting does well to reflect off her face on this cover shot.

Oct2009- Actress Sienna Miller starred on the cover of the Vogue for October and shows us her pleasing smile. A real warmth is bought to the cover with her clothing and the bold text.

Nov 2009- Georgia May Jagger, winner of British Fashion Awards’ Model of the Year and daughter of Mick Jagger really showed her stuff when she was pictured. Her different look and youthful face boasted her modelling talent.

Dec 2009- With Christmas ahead, Lara Stone definately brought a sparkle to the cover. Her long flowing dress pose showed her extravagence.

So, the question is who was the best? Truthfully, I think Kate Moss took a good shot and also so did Daria Webowy. Miss Jagger showed she was worth her prize but the best shot for me goes to Julianne Moore when she captured the sunset in her cover.
